Greetings from the other side of the world! If you’ve been following us on Facebook and Twitter, you know that the 2013 Summer Internship program is well underway. I still can’t believe it, but this is the fifth time we’ve done this!

Right now, we’re in Phnom Penh and Battambang, Cambodia preparing for the July and August issues of World Next Door Magazine (if you haven’t already, download the app in your app store now to have the newest issues downloaded to your tablet or smartphone automatically. It’s super cool.).

We’re here this summer writing about the work of the Center for Global Impact, a ministry empowering women and their families to combat the issues of poverty and sex trafficking.

I won’t give you many more details than that right now. We’ll tell you more about our adventures in the magazine.

For now, I’d just like to introduce you to our awesome team of summer interns. They’re awesome!

Anna Teeter

annaAnna is working with CGI’s byTavi program this summer. As a professional photographer, she brings a talented eye to the beautiful people and scenery of Cambodia. In her “other” life, Anna is a student at Indiana University majoring in photojournalism and studio art. She enjoys creating, traveling, and piano playing.

Countries Visited: Ukraine, Belize, Panama, Costa Rica, Australia, Mexico, Canada, France, Cambodia

Hannah Warstler

hannahHannah is spending her summer embedded with the Green Mango. With a quick intellect and unique perspective, her articles will undoubtedly be a blast to read. Back in Indiana, Hannah graduated from Taylor University where she gained an interest in ethnic reconciliation. When she is not exploring, Hannah enjoys kite-flying, board games, playing the kazoo, and generally being a goof.

Countries Visited: Ireland, Tunisia, Switzerland, Israel, Jordan, France, Thailand, Germany, Kenya, England, Mexico, Italy, Ecuador, Holland, Cambodia

Sarah Bonthuis

sarahLast but not least is Sarah, who is spending her time in Cambodia with the Imprint Project (formerly called the Daughter’s Project). Sarah is a delightful, warm and funny presence on our team. If her adventures already are any indication, her content for the magazine will be great! A recent graduate of Calvin College where she majored in English and Communication, Sarah is passionate about gender equality, traveling, writing, and good coffee.

Countries Visited: Kenya, Mexico, Belize, Cambodia

Send them some encouragement!

So that’s our team (well, them plus Brad, Jeff and Brooke, our year-long fellows… and Tara, our graphic designer, who will be joining us in Cambodia for two weeks starting this weekend, but yeah… that’s our team). They’re great. We’re having a lot of fun together!

If you’d like to send any of the interns an encouraging note, you can send them an email using the addresses below
