Luda is very sweet.  Sitting at Mission to Ukraine’s reception, she is all smiles when visitors or guests enter the building.

Day after day she routes phone calls, helps visitors, answers questions… Even when things are hectic or crowded at reception, Luda keeps her cool.

She always seems to be in control.

So you can imagine my surprise when I learned that her life was once anything but…

One of Many

Luda, as it turns out, is one of the many mothers who have been counseled by Mission to Ukraine’s crisis pregnancy ministry.

Luda’s sons, Vladik and Daniel.

As a scared, pregnant 15 year-old, she chose not to abort her baby, even though everyone around her told her that she should.

MTU walked beside her, gave her and the baby food, clothing and medical care for 18 months, and placed her in Bible study support groups with other mothers.

As you may have seen in Brad’s latest article, her story is one of many success stories here at MTU.  Stories of love and hope overcoming fear…

Recently I sat down with Luda to capture her story on video for Mission to Ukraine.  Here is what she had to say…

    • Head over to MTU’s website to learn more about their crisis pregnancy ministry.
    • Consider giving financially to support the work of Mission to Ukraine. They are making a MASSIVE impact for the kingdom of God here in Zhytomyr.
    • Pray for the many young women like Luda who are pregnant, alone and scared. For those in Zhytomyr, pray that they would find their way to Mission to Ukraine!

Am startled every time I hear of the massive number of abortions in Ukraine. And gratified by the work of MTU. Thanks Bar, for once again bearing witness.

Hard not to look at this and better grasp the enormous complexity of “choice”. And also the desperation of feeling there is “no choice but”…

And then, seeing what can happen when people of Faith go toe to toe with the system of injustice that creates that sense of hopelessness… with a “system of reconciliation”…restoring things to how they were meant to be.

Framing the debate as “pro choice, vs pro life seems really to miss the point… doesn’t it? MTU is clearly light years ahead of that divisive question.

    Thanks.
