Well here it is!  Episode 5 of our video blog, World Next Door Uncut…

In this episode, we hear from the Elliott Family, who is currently preparing to move to Haiti for an entire year.  I wrote about this “crazy” decision in an earlier article.  Now you can hear it from their perspective…

If you’ve missed any of our previous five minute episodes, click here to watch them now.  As you’ll probably notice, we’re not exactly working with a strong production value here.  Each episode is done in one take, no editing or post-processing involved.

Usually that results in a few mistakes, omissions or giant gusts of wind tearing at the microphone until you can’t hear a word I’m saying.  This time all we had to deal with was a grandfather clock and an antsy two year old.  :-)

So sit back, relax, and meet a family that has chosen to walk on the Path of Yes…

Episode 5 Footnotes

  • In this episode, I joined the Elliotts in their home in suburban Indianapolis.
  • The Elliotts have already raised 55% of their support, but they still need help to reach their financial goals.  Click here if you want to join their team as a supporter!
  • Sydney is excited about the playground outside of the NVM school.  In her words, “not much of children at once can play on it, ‘cause it’s kind of small…” :-) You can see the swing-set she’s talking about by clicking here.
  • Although they don’t update it much anymore, you can read about the Elliott’s incredible adoption of Sitota from Ethiopia on their adoption blog, http://adoptelliott.blogspot.com/
  • In the very last frame of the video you can see the Elliott’s dog, Kofe.  Yep, he’s going to Haiti too!

Sometimes following Christ is risky. Amen to the Elliotts for being willing to follow Christ all the way to Haiti..

I totally understand what they mean about it feeling “normal” to go to Haiti. I got up and went to Afghanistan thinking I was going to be there for 9 months and I didn’t think it was that big of a deal, but everyone else thought it was! When are they planning on leave the States to go down? What they are doing is awesome!
