Hello all!

I apologize, but today we need to take a quick break from our coverage of the Haiti crisis to remind everyone about the upcoming deadline for our summer internship applications.  They are due on February 15, 2009 (just three weeks from now!).

If you are thinking of applying, or if you know someone who would be perfect for our internship (creative, energetic and willing to learn), now is the time to fill out those applications!

In case you haven’t heard, our summer internship is an immersive, 2-month experience in a foreign country that gives interns the chance to learn about photojournalism, social justice and cross-cultural interactions, all while growing mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

This summer we will be in Zhitomyr, Ukraine working with several organizations that give hope and dignity to orphans, young mothers and people with a range of disabilities.  Our interns will live with Ukrainian host families, eat Ukrainian foods and travel around the country…

In other words, this summer will rock!

For more information or to download the application, head over to our internship page (www.worldnextdoor.org/internships).  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to write us (internships@worldnextdoor.org).

—————-

I will be leaving for Haiti on Friday.  Be sure to stay tuned to World Next Door for our continued coverage of the post-earthquake relief efforts in Port-au-Prince…
