Your photo’s are very inspiring however what I feel is that we as a community do not do much for these poor children. We look at them not as part of us but as part of the world out there. When we look at our kids we should ask ourselves if the children in the photo’s know about things like barney, or dora or toy story, etc… Life for them is simple a simple bottle top will give them a smile.
We should bring our children here to show them the reality of the world. Its so sad that God has given us to share both time and money yet we are too scared to do so… Will not God Ask Us ? Love thy neighbor? Help the Needy?

the little girl….all I can do is look at her – I mean, I realize that is literally ALL I can do with her on my laptop….but I realized after maybe 30 seconds or so that I had a huge smile on my face. “The least of these” – hmmmmm – I think I must be looking into the eyes of Jesus. I keep telling myself I can’t wait to get to heaven to see Jesus face-to-face….this little girl challenges that thought a million times over.

Seriously…that pic of the little girl is un-be-freakin-lieveable. I’m with Beth Bates…submit to National Geographic!!!! And the picture of the playground…it’s become a really cool mini sermon series at our house…wow and backwards wow….

Pictures tell a real story. It’s so easy to take clean water for granted. The faces of the kids are particularly heart-warming to me. They live in such extreme conditions, and yet are able to smile and seem happy. I find myself grumbling when I have to wait a minute for my shower to warm up in the morning, I’m in a hurry after all. WOW, it’s all about perspective. Thanks Barry, your pictures remind of that.

The picture of the slum house built from pieces of found metal and wood just rips at me–particularly the sign for Panadol (a pain reliever). Heart-wrenching…
